1986 graduate of Pasadena's Art Center College of Design, Johanna has over 30 years’ experience as a commercial storyboard illustrator, portrait painter and art educator.
Over the years, Johanna found her training at Art Center College of Design enabled her to tackle a wide variety of projects such as architectural renderings for builders and interior designers, storyboard art for the advertising industry, costume concept sketches for the 1993 World Blues Festival, and even a commisioned portrait of Hawaii's Governor and First Lady. Her illustrations have been produced as open edition prints and sold in stores such as Target, Marshalls, and Crate and Barrel. Her fine art paintings have been sold in galleries in Hawaii and Los Angeles. “As an illustrator, you never know what you’re going to be asked to paint, so you better be ready and able to draw everything!”, she says. Johanna tries to impart to her young students an enthusiasm for all types of art and an appreciation for the role artists play in shaping the world around us. |
