This painting depicts a sunset as seen from the cliff overlooking Morro Strand Beach, on California's spectacular Central Coast, just a mile or so north of the working fishing port of Morro Bay. This high vantage point is an excellent place to relax and watch the sun slowly sink below the Pacific horizon, and let the cares of the day melt away. In the lower left corner of the painting, you see a girl and her canine "best friend" out for a sunset stroll, making their way down the dirt path that winds from the top of the cliff down to the sand.
